What is Stephen’s experience?
Stephen is an executive trainer and coach with a background in law and business development. He has a particular focus in experiential training, working with professionals to practice challenging conversations related to people management, client development and personal impact. Through this process, he provides detailed developmental feedback to give participants specific and practical guidance for putting communication skills into action.
Before his career in training and consulting, Stephen qualified as a lawyer in New York and worked in-house for a Broadway theatre owner and producer, as well as a national architecture firm in Los Angeles, where he oversaw planning approvals for large-scale real estate developments. He also has over 15 years of experience as a Marketing Director at leading law firms in Los Angeles, New York and London.
Stephen also draws on his training as a professional actor and his particular experience in improvisation. He has a number of feature film and television credits in the US and UK.
What inspires Stephen’s work?
Having worked alongside lawyers and other professionals for over 30 years, Stephen appreciates that management and business development skills have not been a central part of professional education, and yet are essential to career success. He takes great satisfaction in supporting professionals to develop key skills such as networking, client relationships, delegation and feedback – and helping them to build successful teams and profitable practices.
